Full-size wah pedals take up quite a lot of room on your pedal board, while compact wah pedals often simply don't quite cut it. However, the BOSS PW-3 offers all the functionalities of a full-sized wah pedal in an ultra-compact package that's built like a tank! In addition, this pedal also features two different modes: vintage and rich.
Two modes
Apart from all the vintage wah sounds, the PW-3 has gained a particularly useful function with the rich mode. Where the classic vintage mode loses a lot of definition especially at the lower frequencies, the rich mode maintains its definition over all frequencies resulting in a unique, rich wah sound. If you're looking to get that half- cocked wah sound, the sweet spot for this application is so much easier to find in the rich mode, and more importantly gives that lovely rich sound without any interference!
Features
Like all BOSS pedals, the PW-3 has a ultra-rugged housing. Even though this pedal is extremely compact, it has a surprisingly long reach. The PW-3 also has two LED indicators: one on each side of the pedal, so you can clearly tell when it's on or off. You can freely adjust the resistance, as well as how hard you need to press the pedal to turn it on or off. The top of the pedal is covered with a layer of solid rubber. If you're looking for a versatile, rugged wah pedal that doesn't take up too much space on your pedal board, the BOSS PW-3 has it all!

Disclaimer: dit is mijn eerste wah-pedal en ik heb geen ervaring met andere wah's. Vergelijken kan ik dus niet!
Na een tijdje met de Boss AW-3 auto way gespeeld te hebben leek het mij tijd om eens een 'echte' wah te proberen. Na het lezen van vele reviews kwam er niet een echte winnaar naar voren. Daarrom binnen mijn budget gekeken en gekozen voor Boss. Hoofdzakelijk omdat ik altijd goede ervaringen met Boss pedalen heb. Ongeveer 2/3 van mijn pedalboard bestaat uit Boss pedalen, vandaar. Voor mijn gevoel functioneert het pedaal prima. Voel stevig aan (want Boss!), en de geluiden die ik eruit krijg zijn ook prima. Geen spijt dus. Wellicht in de toekomst eens andere pedalen proberen, maar voor nu heel tevreden. Enige opmerking is dat de aan/uit functie bestaat uit veel gewicht op de voorkant plaatsen. Dat vereist wel enige handigheid. Voor mij tot nu toe echter geen probleem.
toch bijzonder... ondanks de crisis binnen een dag in huis. thanks bax. eindelijk na inmiddels 3 wah's de bij mij passende. wel even de rubberen dempers aangepast want ik moest wel heel erg hard drukken om hem aan te krijgen. lekkere sweep en de twee instellingen meer dan genoeg. lijkt me ook oerdegelijk want erg stevig.
Diverse wah pedalen gehad en nooit één waar ik echt tevreden mee was. Ruis, gekraak, bereik in frequentie of volume waren vaak de irritatie factoren.
Deze Boss PW-3 is echt de perfecte wah. Geen ruis, geen gekraak, nauwelijks volumeverschil en een ideale frequentiebereik. De 'rich' stand is mijn favoriet. Prijs en kwaliteit verhouding vind ik absoluut niet slecht. Ben er heel blij mee en kan deze iedereen aanbevelen.

Ben zeer tevreden met deze wah-wah qua sound, afmetingen en stevige constructie. Past goed in mijn koffer voor transport. Een aanrader…
